Healing when you’re home from the hospital.

It’s a relief to come home when you’ve been hospitalized for an illness, injury or condition. But we understand it’s also a challenge: what are the next steps to recovery? What does the healing process involve? Who’s going to help me? Thankfully, your Texas Health Aetna team has some simple tips to make everything go a lot smoother - so you can get on with feeling better.

Follow up with your doctor.

The first, most important step is to make a follow-up appointment with your physician (primary care) or specialist. They’re your main contact for:

  • Questions about your condition, symptoms or side-effects.
  • Any specific medications or prescriptions you need from your local pharmacy.
  • More information, guidance and advice, if you were referred for home health services, or are due for a delivery of home equipment.

Get help getting a doctor.

If you don’t have a physician (primary care), call us, your Care Team, at 817-394-8134. We will help schedule an appointment and help if you’re having trouble picking up your prescriptions.

When it feels too much, let’s talk.

It’s not unusual to feel a little overwhelmed or stressed during recovery. Please don’t hesitate to call your doctor, or us, or get in touch with a behavioral health specialist through the Anytime-MD app.
