What Brings Us Together

Combining our member and patient services to provide you one cost-effective, integrated solution

The Texas Health Aetna joint venture will succeed because each partner is equally invested and contributes what it does best:

  • Texas Health will provide clinical care through its integrated delivery system and savings gained from improved efficiencies and health outcomes.
  • Aetna will provide plan administrative support (i.e., member and plan sponsor claims payments, billing and collections) as well as data, analytics and care management services to Texas Health to help identify and manage their patient population.

With each party doing what they are good at, the joint venture will have the best of both worlds: member and patient services combined to provide one cost-effective, integrated solution.

Our Commitment to You

At Texas Health Aetna, a team-based approach is utilized to foster stronger collaboration and communication between health care professionals. Physicians and providers receive improved access to information so they can make smarter and more informed health care decisions. This allows us to deliver a better, more convenient, patient experience with tools to support a healthy lifestyle.

Our Vision

A future vision of proactive, progressive care

Texas Health and Aetna’s collaborative work will aim to shift from episodic, acute care to population health management to help patients in between office visits. Together, Texas Health and Aetna will work as one team to identify and analyze population health trends, develop coordinated care plans for patients and to enable providers to see the entire patient.

With this insight, Texas Health and Aetna plan to:

  • Create connected care teams who are powered by clinical decision support data and information
  • Conduct proactive outreach to connect with patients before a crisis occurs
  • Identify care gaps to reduce medical errors and waste
  • Help transition patients from the hospital to skilled nursing or home care
  • Encourage at-risk members to get the care they need after a hospital discharge, an emergency room visit or outpatient surgery
  • Direct members to the most appropriate care settings/identify sites of service where high quality, efficient care is provided
  • Alert doctors to wellness opportunities or safety risks based on members’ claims histories

The Partnership

Together, Texas Health Resources and Aetna are taking a new approach to the way health care is offered. With this innovative partnership, these two industry leaders aim to provide more efficient and effective member care at a more affordable cost. By joining the right medical professionals with the right technology, members receive the benefit of quality, personalized health care.
